EP 28: Professional Texas History

In honor of the one-year anniversary of Wise About Texas, I take the show professional.  I conducted an interview with professional historian Dr. Jody Edward Ginn, PhD.  Dr. Ginn discusses his varied career in museums, books and even movies.  His insights into why Texas history is important will educate and inspire your love of Texas history.  Pull up a chair and listen to a professional discuss how to preserve and promote Texas history.

I have listened to several of your podcasts, but as an amateur family historian, I found this interview informative and interesting. This is particularly true since my son, grandson and I are writing a book about our ancestors in Texas. Thank you for your hard work and production of this valuable resource.

It’s me, the nitpicker again. Dr. Ginn refers to the first movie in Texas being made in 1924. Maybe it was the first real Hollywood movie, but I’d like to nominate this one from 1916 as “the first”.
